Film Grants

On the set of the short film "River" written and directed by Rafal Sokolowski. Produced by Josh Clark.

Unlike traditional film commissions, which typically do not offer financial grants to filmmakers, Film Columbus operates with a distinctive perspective. We firmly believe in the importance of fostering our local filmmaking community, recognizing that financial support can be a catalyst for creative growth and opportunity.

Our commitment to providing multiple grants throughout the year stems from the belief that by investing in local talent, we can catalyze vibrant storytelling, boost the regional film industry, and cultivate a thriving creative ecosystem right here in Columbus. We understand that every filmmaker, regardless of their background, deserves a chance to bring their vision to life, and we are dedicated to making that aspiration a reality through our grant programs. Join us in this journey of empowerment and collaboration as we empower local filmmakers to realize their cinematic dreams.

In partnership with the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC), FIlm Columbus invested more than $100,000 in local filmmakers in 2023. In 2024, that total will be more than $225,000.
